Tunisia: Possible Strike of Journalists in Tunis on 22 April

The Journalists' Syndicate has called for TAP reporters of the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) to hold their first-ever strike on April 22 if the government does not withdraw the appointment of the new chief executive. Journalists say the appointment will undermine editorial independence

If the strike is not averted, protests are possible. Minimize safety risks by avoiding areas of large public gatherings or protests. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly become violent.
