Travel Disruption on Trans-Siberian Railway

Rail service on the Trans-Siberian railway has been disrupted by a bridge collapse following heavy rains. The affected area is near Nizhnyaya Kuenga in the Trans-Baikal region east of Lake Baikal. Reports indicate that dozens of trains are stranded along the 9,289-kilometer railroad line. No injuries were reported.

Officials hope to get trains moving again on one section of the railway in 2 1/2 days, while the second link should resume operations in five days.
