South Korea: Demonstration in Wonju on 23 and 30 July

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) will hold a rally outside the National Health Insurance Service in Wonju on 23 July to support the employee walkout by personnel of the National Health Insurance Service's call centre. Protesters are demanding direct employment status. Around 1,200 people are expected to participate in the demonstration. It is unclear if KCTU leaders will call off the protest.

To minimize safety risks, avoid areas of large public gatherings or protests. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly and become violent.
