Soufriere Volcano Continues to Devastate Saint Vincent - Update

Periodic eruptions of the Soufriere Volcano that began on 9 April have covered the island of Saint Vincent in ash. The continued eruptions of gas and ash, as well as tremors, are hampering ongoing evacuations and humanitarian efforts. As many as 20,000 people have been evacuated, and many have been displaced.
At this time, residents have no clean water or electricity. Access to St. Vincent and the Grenadines is restricted. Airports are shut down. Maritime travel is limited.
