Senegal: Demonstration in Dakar on 23 June

“The Movement for the Defence of Democracy” (M2D), an opposition party, has called for a protest on 23 June in Dakar at Place de la Nation (formerly known as Place de l'Obélisque) to demand the release of the activists detained during the wave of protests in March that followed civil unrest across the country.

Significant travel disruptions are likely. To minimize safety risks, avoid areas of large public gatherings or protests. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly become violent.
