Risk of Flooding Continues in Switzerland

Rivers and lakes in central Switzerland are at dangerous levels. The highest danger level of 5 remains in place for Lake Lucerne, Lake Thun and Lake Biel.

Weather forecasts indicate that rain will continue through Monday. So far, no casualties are reported in Switzerland. Severe flooding has been reported throughout the country, including in Bern, Zurich, Basel, Uri, Vaud, Luzern.

Advice For Travellers

Rail and road travel routes across Switzerland have been affected. Within Bern, locations near the Aare River are closed, and streets are impassable. Authorities have warned the public to avoid lake and river banks.
