India: March from Punjab to Delhi on 21 April

The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) (Ekta Ugrahan), a Punjab-based farmer union, has called for a convoy march on 21 April from Punjab to the national capital of Delhi. The march is a part of the ongoing farmers' agitation against the three newly enacted central-government farm laws. Past protests and rallies on the same issue have triggered violent clashes and have been clamped down by authorities.

Advice For Travellers

The ongoing protests by farmers have turned violent in the past months. Minimize safety risk by avoiding all areas of public gatherings and demonstrations. Allot for disruptions to travel on the Punjab-Delhi routes.
