Deadly Flooding, Rescuers Search for Survivors - India

Tens of thousands of people were evacuated to safer areas as record-breaking rainfall occurred along parts of the coast in western India. The states of Goa and Maharashtra have been badly affected, with many feared missing near Mumbai. At least 136 people were killed and some 90,000 were evacuated in Maharashtra, and hundreds of homes were damaged in Goa.

Heavy rains are forecast to continue in some of the affected areas over the next few days. Avoid travelling to these areas as essential services, such as transportation, may have been severely affected.
