Cyprus: Multiple Protest in Nicosia on 24-25 July

The US embassy has warned of various demonstrations expected ON the weekend of 24-25 July. Large crowds and a strong police presence are expected. On 24 July 18:00 (local time), a demonstration is expected in the vicinity of the Presidential Palace. The demonstration will be one of several held simultaneously worldwide and may result in protests in other locations in Cyprus. On 25 July at 18:00 (local time), a demonstration is expected at the Ministry of Justice.

To minimize safety risks, avoid areas of large public gatherings or protests. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly and become violent.
