COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Mayotte (21 May Update)

*Can a resident enter the country? *

  • Citizens and residents of Mayotte are allowed to enter.

*Can a foreigner enter the country? *

  • No with exceptions

  • Foreigners are not allowed to enter Mayotte. Exceptions can be made for those with urgent family, health, or work-related reasons.

*Is transit allowed through the country? *

  • Yes

  • Travellers in transit must show an International Travel Certificate.

*Is a test required on arrival? *

  • Yes

  • All travellers will undergo health screening on arrival.

  • An antigen test may also be required for passengers arriving from Paris.

Is a test certificate allowed?

  • Certificates issued outside Mayotte are accepted.

  • Passengers over the age of eleven must have a certificate for a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test issued within 72 hours before departure from the place of embarkation. This restriction does not apply to travellers coming from French Guiana, French Polynesia, French West Indies, New Caledonia, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Reunion, and Wallis and Futuna.

  • Anyone without the medical certificate for a negative PCR result may be denied boarding by the airline.

  • Based on the above restrictions, the traveller will be required to spend mandatory seven days in quarantine.
