COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Martinique (09 April Update)

Can a resident enter the country?

  • Yes

  • Citizens and residents can enter.

Can a foreigner enter the country?

  • No, with exceptions

  • Travellers are not allowed to enter unless for an overriding personal or family reason, a health reason relating to an emergency or a professional reason that cannot be postponed.

  • A compelling reason is also requested for any travel between Martinique and Guyana, Saint-Martin or Saint-Barthélemy. It is also mandatory to have a compelling reason to travel between Martinique and Guadeloupe. More information can be found here.

Is a test required on arrival?

  • Yes, with exceptions

  • Travellers are subject to medical screening at airports.

  • Travellers will be required to take a PCR test on day 7 to terminate quarantine after arrival.

Test certificate required?

  • Yes, with exceptions

  • Every passenger over 11 years old travelling to Martinique must submit a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued not more than 72 hours before boarding from their point of origin, except for travellers from Guadeloupe. Passengers with positive results will not be allowed to board the aeroplane.

Is quarantine required on arrival?

  • Yes, with exceptions

  • All inbound travellers are subject to a mandatory quarantine for seven days on arrival. A test on day seven is required for release from quarantine. Travellers between Martinique and Guadeloupe are exempt.

  • Based on the above restrictions, with the specified exceptions, all incoming travellers will be subjected to 7 days of quarantine.

Entry form required?

  • Yes

  • All arriving passengers (except travellers from Guadeloupe) over 11 years old must present a sworn statement that they do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 and were not aware of having any contact with any COVID positive patient at least 14 days before their journey.   • It is strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs Martinique that travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance, which will cover all overseas medical costs, including medical repatriation/evacuation, repatriation of remains, and legal costs before travelling.
