COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Guinea-Bissau (12 April Update)

*Can a resident enter the country? *

  • Citizens and residents are allowed to enter.

*Can a foreigner enter the country? *

  • Yes

  • Foreign nationals are allowed to enter Guinea-Bissau.

*Is a test required on arrival? *

  • No with exceptions

  • All travellers will undergo a temperature check and health screening on arrival.

  • Passengers with fever or symptoms of COVID-19 will have another health screening, which may include a COVID-19 test.

  • Following the identification of a new strain of COVID-19, travellers from the countries with the new strain must also have a PCR test on arrival and remain in quarantine until the result is available. Those who test positive will be taken to a government treatment center.

  • Test certificates issued outside of Guinea-Bissau from an accredited institution are accepted.

  • All persons entering Guinea-Bissau must present a negative COVID-19 test result from an accredited institution, performed within the previous 72 hours before departing from their point of origin.

*Is quarantine required on arrival? *

  • No with exceptions

  • On arrival, all passengers are encouraged to undergo self-isolation at home for 14 days.

  • If any passenger on a flight is suspected of having COVID-19, all the passengers on that flight will be subject to self-isolation for 14 days under the supervision of health authorities.
