Brazil: Truck Drivers Nationwide Strike on 25 July

The Truck Driver’s Association and the National Council for Road Cargo Transport (CNTRC) has announced a nationwide strike on 25 July against President Jair Bolsonaro for his unfulfilled promises and also against price hikes of diesel fuel. The Brazilian Association of Motor Vehicle Drivers (Abrava) and the National Transport Association of Brazil (ANTB) will also join the strike. The strike could extend until 26 July.

There could be protests as well as traffic disruption due to road blockades. To minimize safety risks, avoid areas of large public gatherings or protests. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly and become violent.
